SOUTHEASTERN CARAGA MISSION — What will it take to make OneVOICE27 a movement that reaches every church, strengthens every member, and brings the message of hope beyond the walls of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? This question shaped the discussions during the visit of Hope Channel Philippines President Pastor Jhonster Joe Calibod together with Pastor Michael Palar, Hope Channel Coordinator of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), to the Southeastern Caraga Mission (SCM).
The visit became an important opportunity for leaders to exchange ideas, explore practical solutions, and discuss collaborative strategies to help every local church across Southeastern Caraga participate meaningfully in the OneVOICE27 initiative.
At the heart of the discussions was the recognition that OneVOICE27 is a mission too significant to be carried by the Communication Department alone. Its scope calls for the active involvement of the entire Church, from mission administrators and departmental leaders to district pastors, local church leaders, communication teams, and active members in every congregation.
The magnitude of the initiative lies in its two-fold mission: to strengthen the Church from within while extending its witness to those beyond its fellowship.

Through OneVOICE27, the emphasis is on mobilizing the Church from the inside; encouraging members to become active participants in sharing the Gospel, supporting evangelistic efforts, and using their voices, talents, relationships, and digital platforms to advance the mission. It is about building a united Church in which every member understands that mission is not the responsibility of a few, but a calling shared by all.
Complementing this inward mobilization is SCM’s #AllThingsNew campaign, carrying the message “Hope Starts Here” to people beyond the Adventist community. While OneVOICE27 seeks to unite and mobilize the Church in its mission, #AllThingsNew provides an opportunity to extend that hope to non-Adventists, connecting with communities, sharing stories of transformation, and introducing people to the hope found in Christ.
Together, these initiatives point to a broader vision: a church that is strengthened from within and intentional in reaching those outside its walls. This is where media ministry becomes especially significant, not merely as a means of publicizing programs, but as a bridge connecting the Church’s mission with people who need to hear its message.
The discussions also highlighted the growing responsibility of the SCM Communication Department in coordinating these efforts. With multiple churches, districts, and ministry teams involved, the work requires clear direction, effective communication, accessible strategies, and sustained cooperation. Digital platforms must serve more than announcements; they must become spaces where faith is shared, testimonies are heard, and meaningful connections with people are formed.
However, achieving this vision requires more than producing content or maintaining official church pages. It calls for administrators who provide direction, pastors who mobilize their districts, local leaders who create opportunities for participation, communication teams who tell the Church’s stories, and members who actively live out and share their faith.
The visit of Pastor Calibod and Pastor Palar provided an opportunity to discuss how these responsibilities can be shared and how practical approaches can help congregations of different capacities take part in the initiative. The goal is to ensure that OneVOICE27 becomes a collective movement across SCM, rather than an undertaking limited to selected churches or media personnel.
As the Mission continues to strengthen its media and evangelism efforts, the challenge is clear: to build a united voice within the Church and carry its message of hope to the wider community.
OneVOICE27 calls the Church to speak and move as one. #AllThingsNew, through “Hope Starts Here,” extends that hope to those who have yet to experience it. Together, they reflect a mission that begins with a mobilized Church and reaches outward to a world in need of hope.
Because the work is too great for one department, the message too important for a few voices, and the mission too urgent for any church to stand on the sidelines. Across Southeastern Caraga, every leader, every congregation, and every member has a part to play in bringing the hope of Christ to more people with one voice, one story, and one mission.
