ChM Department Empower Leaders thru Mission-Wide Leadership Certification

To equip, encourage, and empower Children’s Ministries Leaders in the ministry of nurturing kids for the Master Teacher—Southeastern Caraga Mission Children’s Ministries Department conducted a Leadership Certification at Bayugan Adventist Center Church on October 25, 2025.

Spearheaded by SCM ChM Director MS Luzijun Lantaya, the ChM Leadership Certification (Level 1) involved over 300 delegates comprising ChM Coordinators and Sabbath School Teachers for Baby Steps, Beginners, Kindergarten, Primary, Juniors and Earliteens from all over the mission territory.

Ministerial Spouse Lecturers enlightened the delegates through their comprehensive presentation of topics: “Positive Discipline” by MS Fe Maloloy-on, “Active Learning” & “Faith Development of Children” by MS Luzijun Lantaya, “Protecting Children” & “Emergency Procedure” by MS Loida Suson, and “Understanding Child Development” & “How Children Learn” by MS Janice Goyo.

MS Jill Palomares, Southeastern Philippine Union Mission ChM Director, delivered the Hour of Worship message entitled, “Raising Children to Adore God.”

Sister Marie Luz Alberio, Mangagoy District delegate, pointed out the value of the training this way—“The ChM Leadership Certification (Level 1) was deeply insightful, reminding us of the church’s vital role in guiding, protecting, and nurturing children in their faith and development, and we are truly grateful to the speakers, such as Ma’am Lantaya, Ma’am Palumares, and the other lecturers for delivering their topics with remarkable clarity and passion.”

San Miguel District delegate Sister Stephanie Sio, ChM Leader, added her own sentiments: “The one-day lecture is an event packed with experience-based teachings. Lecturers gave all the angle of the topics.”

Tandag Central Church Sabbath School Teachers Sisters Marnellei Joy Ruadel, Ellaine Detablan, and Cecil Sahilan unitedly commented on the blessing they received from the event: “We, the attendees gained valuable insights and knowledge on how to effectively minister to our young children. The commitment to equipping and empowering its teachers is truly commendable.”

MS Cristine Bagnol of Bayugan Western District expressed her gratitude for the event: “I appreciate how the speakers provided practical applications and examples that I know for sure very useful for the ChM Leaders. The speakers are truly excellent and inspiring, and their passion and love for the children are radiating.”

SCM MSA exerted all-out support through extending helping hands during the preparation of the event, involvement as program participants, and assisting in the registration, presentation of leis to lecturers, and helping program coordinators in terms of follow up of assigned participants.

SCM ChM Director, MS Luzijun Lantaya shared her appreciation to all ministers and ministerial spouses present for their active involvement and wholehearted participation in the Children’s Ministries Leadership Certification Level 1 program as “their support, presence, and enthusiasm added great value and inspiration to the event.”
