Baptism first-in-rank among missions and conferences in Southern Asia-Pacific Division, Southeastern Caraga Mission Family of nearly six thousand worshipped and fellowshipped in a Thanksgiving & Harvest Celebration on the sunny Sabbath Day of December 6, 2025 at the Naliyagan, Patin-at, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
SSD Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director Pastor Segundino Asoy graced the event with his lecture on “Living A Life Worthy of One’s Calling” during the SS Program, the faith-boosting Hour of Worship sermon, and the soulful commitment message at the close of the whole-day affair.
Pastor Asoy’s Hour of Worship message hit home for the hushed worshippers as he emphasized three points in Colossians 3:15-17: first, to allow Christ’s peace to rule in one’s heart; second, to carefully study the Word of God each day; and third, to do everything to honor God.
“I thank the Lord for sending Pastor Segundino Asoy as the mouthpiece of God during the recent SCM Thanksgiving; he delivered a straightforward message reminding us that we are here to represent Jesus Christ,” commented Mr Neil Dela Cruz, one of the church elders of Pasta SDA Church in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
Recognition of each district through certificates and cash gifts filled the warm afternoon Sabbath air with gratitude and appreciation from lay members and leaders, as well from district pastors and ministerial spouses.
“Our Thanksgiving program became a powerful, spirit-filled fellowship where brethren from all over agusan del sur and surigao del sur gathered in an overwhelming numbers, leaving each heart deeply blessed and inspired by the sermons, reports, testimonies, and the singing that filled the day,” testified SCM Youth Ministries supporter Engr. Kirby John Sasil.
Mangagoy District Leader Pastor Rian Pentin shared his personal observation and gratitude for the event in these words:
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and talents to make this celebration truly meaningful. The Harvest and Thanksgiving Celebration at Naliyagan Patin-ay last sabbath was a beautiful testimony of gratitude, unity, and faith. It reminds us that when we work together and acknowledge God’s providence, our community flourishes both physically and spiritually.”
SCM Family and guests left Naliyagan with a sense of awe at God’s amazing grace to SCM—a new mission empowered to go and reach the world with faith and fervor—bearing in mind the guiding principle: “Grounded in the Bible. Focused on the Mission.”
